Ehsan’s language is regimented in its sparseness, wells with emotions and punches you in the gut.
What holds these poems together is the poet’s journey through the many vistas of love, boredom and war; of children and parents out of reach; of love and the violent ennui of human relations; of tenderness and migrations.
Language itself is an actor in these poems, it delivers, it undercuts, it translates, it mutates, it sentences and sometimes it fails to “deliver the pieces to complete the sentence…"
About the author
Sara Ehsan (born 1977) is a poet and playwright. Born in Iran, she came to Germany as a refugee at the age of eight. Since studying literature, Iranian studies and art history in Heidelberg, she has published her texts in magazines, newspapers and anthologies.
